Be A Part of this Great Vision!

This is presently a gleam in our eye...

Several cozy homes filled with happy families. The children and pets in these homes were once needy and/or abused but now delight in secure, loving homes where they are encouraged and enjoyed as they should be - by caring, nurturing families and friends.

Each home is unique, reflecting the family that lives there. There's a deep sense of peace and joy in the home; love and goodness reign there; children are raised on positive input from all who are in any way a part of this little development.

The homes encircle a large open area which serves as every family's backyard. It's a beautiful grassy area with fun places for both the children and the animals, an outdoor amphitheatre, a labyrinth and garden, a chapel, and possibly even a swimming pool. There is a clubhouse with a large auditorium, a 24/7 healthcare/veterinarian facility, a daycare/eldercare set-up, etc.

Communities will welcome such developments because the many activities and programs are open to the public and greatly enrich all who take part. There will be lectures, workshops, and entertainment (big name volunteers offering fund-raising concerts as well as a place for a local theatrical group to do its thing, a dog training program and countless outreach programs to involve young and old alike in helping needy people and animals around the world).

Open Doors would also like to own a place near the Atlantic Ocean, such as a big, old hotel in Ocean Grove, NJ, to use for year-round activities. During the summer it would host a variety of summer camps, involving the children in the full spectrum of musical, theatrical and spiritual activities offered by Ocean Grove. The huge auditorium there holds up to 6,000 people for Saturday night concerts and Sunday church services.

In order to make this vision a reality we need all kinds of help and support because this is an all-volunteer organization. We're starting with our big Dogfest2009 in Beechmood Park, Hillsdale, NJ, from 3:00-8:00PM on August 23rd. Go to www.Dogfests.com to find out all about it. We are also inviting non-profit organizations to use our recent book, "Bark up the Right Tree, Lessons from a Rescued Dog" for fund-raising purposes. Contact Ruth at barkuptherighttree@verizon.net to find out more about that unique fundraising opportunity.

The logistics involved in making our dream come true are immense, we know - big enough to be imposssible for us. Then, when it happens, we know it's God in action! Step by step it can become reality if we believe and work together. Will you help?
