We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charitable trust dedicated to encouraging, empowering, and giving practical assistance to those going through difficult times. For example, our New Horizons Program helps struggling families to improve their lives and plan for their next step up.
Past endeavors have included a six-week Happiness Workshop, musical grants, scholarships, 0% loans, security deposits, and other specialized awards for those who will put them to good use.
In June of 2007 our poster girl, Jessie the dog, was adopted. She promotes awareness of children and animals in need of a loving home (as she once was.) She has made her story into a delightful, heart-warming book called Bark up the Right Tree which will soon be available on Amazon.com. Click here for a sample chapter. All proceeds from will go toward our Kids 'n' Kritters campaign.
Hi! I’m Jessie, a rescued dog now living in River Vale, New Jersey. I belong to Open Doors, a local charity that helps people and animals going through tough times. I’m planning a big event that’s never been done before. It’s all about dogs and it’s for the benefit of children and animals in need of loving homes. All humans and participating dogs are welcome; other dogs will have to settle for souvenirs from loved ones who attend. l read more
